About PointLit

About PointLit

PointLit is a POS and inventory system for independent shops in Egypt, founded by Mahmoud Elselimy. It works in Arabic and English, and it records every sale, delivery, transfer and count as a line that is never edited, so any number can be traced. A real business has run on it since September 2026; new sign-ups are closed for now.

Who founded PointLit

Mahmoud Elselimy

Founder

Mahmoud is an IT and engineering professional who specializes in building highly resilient, scalable software systems, with extensive enterprise experience managing complex infrastructure and networks, most notably within the energy sector. He founded PointLit to bring enterprise-grade reliability to modern applications. At PointLit, Mahmoud ensures the platform is built on a foundation of strict technical excellence, security, and practical problem-solving.

Who we build it for

We build it for independent shops: the clothing shop with a second branch, the grocery on the corner, the cosmetics counter with a thousand small items. Shops like these run on a notebook, a spreadsheet and a cashier's memory, and they deserve the same control a large chain has, in Arabic as well as English.

Why we build it: every number can be traced

Most arguments in a shop start with a number someone typed over. PointLit keeps the shop's books as a ledger. A sale, a delivery, a transfer and a stock count each write lines that can never be edited or deleted, and stock on hand is worked out from those lines. A mistake is corrected with a new line, the way an accountant would. When a figure is questioned, the answer is a line with a date, a document and a name.

What is true today

  • Our first paying business has run its shop on PointLit since September 2026.
  • New sign-ups are closed for now. Shops can request early access.
  • Plans and prices are on the pricing page: in Egyptian pounds for Egypt, in US dollars elsewhere.
  • It runs in a web browser and as a Windows app for Windows 10 or later, in Arabic and English.
  • Our pages say plainly what is not built yet, such as Egyptian Tax Authority e-receipts and importing products from a file.

How to reach us

Write to support@pointlit.com, in Arabic or English. Developers who want to connect a shop's online store or other software will find the partner API on the developers page.
